There are numerous hiking trails that twist and turn throughout the Vail Valley. Please be safe on your hiking adventure take the proper equipment (GPS, Water, Snack, Clothing, and Knowledge), know the weather forecast and plan your hike around mother nature, and have a plan for a problem. If you follow these steps there is unlimited exploration available in the Vail Valley.

Featured Hikes/Trails:
Deep Creek Trail: Located off I-70 at Exit 133 (Dotsero) then north on Colorado River Road (Eagle County 301) approximately 2.0 miles. Then left on Coffee Pot Road and go roughly 2 miles to the trailhead.
Length: 3 miles
Difficulty: Intermediate
Time to Allow: 1-2 hours

Dotsero Ute Trail: Located off I-70 at Exit 133 (Dotsero) then north on Colorado River Road (Eagle County 301) about .5 miles to the trail.
Length: 4 miles
Difficulty: Intermediate
Time to Allow: 3 - 3.5 hours
April - October
Hack Lake Ute Trail: Located off I-70 at Exit 133 (Dotsero) then north on Colorado River Road (Eagle County 301) about 6.5 miles, then drive northwest on The Sweetwater Road to Sweetwater Lake.
Camping permitted
Starting Elevation: 3,300 ft
Ending Elevation: 7,700 ft

King Mountain Trail: From I-70 at Wolcott drive north on Colorado 131 about 31 miles to the trailhead located on the left-hand side.
Length: 10 miles roundtrip
Time to Allow: 5 to 6 hours
Sneeve Gulch Trail: Located off I-70 at Eagle head south, take highway 6 west then turn left on Broadway, turn left on 5th Street then right on Capitol when you reach the next stop sign, turn left. Head south on Brush Creek Road (CR 307) for 10 miles veer to the right at the fork and go an additional five miles to the park.
Length: 4 mile roundtrip
Difficulty: Difficult
Time to Allow: 2 to 2.5 hours
Sylvan Lake Trail: Located off I-70 at Eagle head south, take highway 6 west then turn left on Broadway, turn left on 5th Street then right on Capitol when you reach the next stop sign, turn left. Head south on Brush Creek Road (CR 307) for 10 miles veer to the right at the fork and go an additional five miles to the park.
Length: 2 miles roundtrip
Difficulty: Easy
Bike use permitted
Winter Ridge Trail: Located off I-70 at Wolcott, drive north on Colorado Highway 131 to Colorado River Road. Head west on Colorado River Road about 8 miles to Blue Hill Junction then head south about 2 miles to the trailhead.
Length: 6 miles roundtrip
Time to Allow: 3 to 4 hours
